When a roof leak needs urgent attention
We treat an emergency roof leak as any roofing problem that lets water into your property or leaves it exposed to the weather. That can mean storm damage, missing tiles, slipped slates, split flat roofing, loose ridge sections or failed flashing. At Spencer Roofing Services in Barnsley, we focus on making your roof weather-tight quickly to help limit damage to ceilings, insulation and roof timbers.

What we do first and what happens next
We start by checking where the water is getting in, not just where it shows inside. We then carry out the fastest safe repair to stop further ingress, whether that means securing materials, sealing a split or making a damaged area safe. If the problem needs more than an immediate fix, we explain the follow-up work clearly. Spencer Roofing Services also repairs roofline issues such as damaged uPVC fascias and guttering when poor drainage is adding to the leak.
Frequently asked questions
What should you tell us when you call about a leak?
Please tell us where the leak is showing inside, when you first noticed it, and whether there has been recent wind or heavy rain. It also helps if you can describe your roof type and let us know about parking or safe access outside, so we can arrive prepared.
Do you always carry out a full repair on the first visit?
Not always. If the damage is severe or the weather is poor, we may carry out a temporary make-safe repair first to stop water getting in. We then explain exactly what permanent work is needed, such as replacing broken tiles, renewing flashing or re-securing ridge sections.
What should you do before we arrive?
Please stay off the roof and don't try to inspect damage at height yourself. Inside the property, use buckets, towels or other protection to catch water and move valuables away from the affected area if you can do so safely. We will assess the problem properly when we arrive.
